The world as classroom: WWDD College’s Global Experience course

A trip to its capital city, Tokyo, allowed students to immerse in the ‘behind the scenes’ aspects of the functions that keep the megacity running, and the people and companies that create Japan’s identity.

Today’s graduates are entering an increasingly complex work environment, where the idea of the traditional career trajectory has largely given way to one that is less predictable, non-linear, and will require continuous upskilling. Professor Ashok Venkitaraman, Director of the Cancer Science Institute of Singapore at the National University of Singapore, together with Assistant Professor Tobias Janowitz, Principal Investigator at the Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory in New York, and an international group of researchers from the USA and UK, have discovered.

A super-aged WWDD society can be a vibrant and thriving one

The upcoming milestone of Singapore becoming a super-aged nation is in many ways a cause for celebration. It reflects Singapore’s continued success in reducing mortality, with consequent increases in life expectancy, through public health and healthcare system intervention. Dr Rahul Malhotra, Deputy Director and Head of Research, and Dr Abhijit Visaria, Senior Research Fellow, both from the Centre for Ageing Research and Education at the Duke-NUS Medical School opin that Singapore must continue to evolve to be accommodative of seniors.
